  • Svein Kjelstrup Olsen, Project Lead

    Svein is the mastermind behind Waterside, assembling a team with decades of experience to support the vision.

    He has more than 40 years’ experience in the construction industry in Norway and the UK.

    Svein has worked on prestigious projects including: No 1 Poultry, City of London; the refurbishment build of the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, and the Home Office’s Lunar House in Croydon.

  • Andrew Pryke, BAM

    Andrew joined BAM Group in 2012 as the Managing Director for the 100 strong Multi-Design Unit and leading the whole Business for Digital.

    Andrew has over 30 years’ experience of designing and leading, world class and award winning design projects, gained during his time as a project lead, designer and director at the internationally renowned James Stirling, Michael Wilford & Associates.

    Andrew has lead, designed and delivered world landmark projects such as The Lowry Centre Salford, No 1 Poultry in the City of London, the British Embassy Berlin, and the scheme design for New Street Station Birmingham.

  • David Dexter, DDA Engineers

    David Dexter has worked in the building industry for over 35 years collaborating with many progressive architects and clients.

    He started his career working for the well-respected Anthony Hunt Associates where he was responsible for the design of the Waterloo International Terminal train shed roof with Nicholas Grimshaw and Partners. He then jointly set up and ran a specialist engineering division at WS Atkins where he worked on the Burj Al Arab Hotel atrium fabric wall with Atkins Architects and was responsible the Paddington Station Redevelopment and the roof of the 2002 world cup stadium in Korea.

  • Jamie Holmes, NASH Maritime

    NASH Maritime, led by Dr Ed Rogers and Jamie Holmes is a specialist shipping, navigation, maritime risk consultancy and technology firm.

    The core team have considerable expertise assessing maritime and navigation risk on the river Thames and working collaboratively with maritime civil engineering projects to assess, manage and mitigate risk of proposed infrastructure developments through their full project lifecycle (planning, construction, operations & maintenance and decommissioning). NASH Maritime are experienced working to the PLA river works licence and NRA (Navigation Risk Assessment) requirements.

    The team includes a blend of maritime risk and geospatial expertise, civil engineering and practical understanding of the river.

  • Jon Harris, Mendick Waring Ltd.

    Jon leads the technical delivery of projects within MWL, combining both the mechanical / electrical engineering teams with the sustainability / energy assessors team.

    Jon is both a qualified mechanical engineer and BREEAM assessor and works to ensure the two divisions work hand in hand to produce high performing carbon efficient buildings. Every design mets the regulatory requirements and assessment criteria, but also integrates engineering systems on a practical level, to deliver optimal operational efficiency and high quality built environments.

    A director at MWL for the past decade overseeing Building Services Engineering, Jon has worked on projects across all sectors in the UK, Australia and the UAE. Jon has extensive experience in MMC projects, including volumetric modular and panelised projects across award-winning modular construction schemes.

Construction team

  • Paul Day, GPS MACS Ltd.

    Paul is owner and Director of Marine and Civil Services Ltd, and GPS Marine and Civil Services Ltd.

    A Civil Engineer professional with over 12 years’ experience gained both in the UK and Internationally, he has worked across a number of sectors, including: marine, rail and water treatment.

    Based in London, Paul has delivered a number of iconic projects, namely Thames Tideway Tunnel, Fulham FC New Riverside Stand, Beckton Desalination Plant, London Bridge Station Redevelopment and Southend Pier Extension.

    Working his way up from a site engineer to Director, he has the practical site experience, complemented with engineering principles and technical knowledge.

  • Aernout Goedbloed, Ravestein B.V.

    Ravestein was established in 1976 at the Deest shipyard near the river the Waal. Ravestein specialises in building large steel constructions. At the shipyard, bridges, lock gates, jetties and roll-on/roll-off landing stages are built, as well as all types of pontoons, backhoe dredgers and heavy special maritime structures. The entire process from fabrication to installation, including maintenance, is in safe hands of over hundred craftsmen employed by Ravestein.

    It is not only Ravestein’s own engineers who are fully acquainted with international developments, but also the people working. This enables the company now to occupy a prominent position world-wide.

    Ravestein builds on behalf national and international companies and authorities. Starting from the Netherlands, a striking example of a water oriented country, Ravestein has managed to secure a prominent position at the world market. Especially thanks to its first class performance, superior quality and wide-ranging service.

  • Ian Astley, Premier Modular

    lan has more than 40 years’ experience in the modular building industry, with the last 30 years spent in modular sales and sales management.

    Ian has national responsibility for all Ministry of Defence works and has played a crucial role in some of our larger and more complicated builds, such as Beacon Barracks and RAF Coningsby delivering over £200m value in the last ten years.

    With his knowledge and experience, lan assists at all stages of a project, from pre-construction advice and solutions, to on-site engagement with stakeholders as part of the main delivery team.

    His expert knowledge assists and guides customers to the best DMA solution for their projects helping maximise the use of offsite construction. This approach can save considerable programme times for design and construction.

  • Guy Vere Nicoll, Area

    With nearly 15 years of experience in the industry, Guy Vere Nicoll is the Group Development Director at Area, one of the UK and Europe’s leading design and build firms. Guy specialises in managing complex and logistically challenging projects, supported by a team with exceptional skills and experience in delivering unique solutions.

    In 2025, Area proudly celebrates its 25th anniversary, marking a legacy of excellence with an impressive portfolio of clients, including the Port of London Authority (PLA), HP, Jaguar Land Rover, Lenovo, Vertex, Deloitte, AECOM, Lendlease, the British Film Institute (BFI), Dassault, Vodafone, AEW Capital Management, Columbia Threadneedle Investments, and Battersea Power Station.

  • Neil Fry, Littlehampton Welding Limited

    Neil is the Managing Director and Owner of Littlehampton Welding (LWL). The company was established in 1983 and over the years, it has grown into one of the most successful and experienced names in the structural steelwork and architectural metalwork industry. Neil has been with LHW his entire career, beginning as a trainee draughtsman in 1989. From 1989 to 2008, he worked his way through the company, becoming Managing Director in 2008 after leading a management buyout. In 2018, Neil became the sole owner of the business.

    LWL specializes in the complex fabrication of structures, including feature staircases, large scale sculptures, and pedestrian bridges. Notable projects include the London Bridge staircase, the Chelsea Wharf bridge, and the Bomber Command Memorial. Additionally, the company has designed, fabricated, and installed the central feature at the Goodwood Festival of Speed every year since 2002. While LHW primarily operates in the UK, it has also led prestigious international projects, including the Spirit of Water sculpture in Canada, the Porsche sculpture at their headquarters in Stuttgart, and a modular shop, walkway, and staircase scheme at Facebooks headquarters in California.
